Chris Denovan is South African and was born in 1983. He is a visual artist living and working in Cape Town and has a broad experience in all aspects of animation and art. Direct experience with independent art workshops, art curators and animation di- rectors. Chris has interest in understanding and dealing with making sense of the me- chanics and metaphysics surrounding the fine art sphere. His skill and technique combine to form an impressive body of portraits, conceptual nudes draped in fabric or adorned with surreal props that add a narrative layer to his work.
In 2010 Chris left animation to focus on fine art full time He has since exhibited his paintings in various group shows all over South Africa while developing his own person- al style. He graduated at Ruth Prowse School of Art with a Diploma in Fine Art. For his graduate body of work and thesis he con- centrated on Portraiture interpreting Prejudice, Discrimination and power relations in gender and ethnicity. Exploring vari- ous painting techniques is his manner in which he developed his own unique style. Denovan has exhibited with ECLECTI- CA Design & Art in February 2016 and THAT ART FAIR 2016. Chris Denovan is exhibiting in the group show South Fac- ing at ECLECTICA Design & Art from 3 November 2016 un- til 19 January 2017. Denovan is currently preparing for a new show at ECLECTICA Design & Art in February 2017
