Jacobus Kloppers was born on 13 June 1959, in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. He has held numerous solo exhibitions of his paintings and has exhibited around South Africa. His work is housed in numerous important collections. The body of work he presents mediates notions of periphery and perimeter, meditating on space as the embodiment of both presence and absence. With a strong recurrence of bodies of wa- ter in his work, the technical realism he incorporates along with his thick brushwork leads to a kind of abstracted exploration of movement, form and points of confluence. Art is always best viewed in person, physically standing within its proximity. Jacobus Kloppers’s maelstrom of paint and pigment, form and texture is no exception and as such, we look forward to welcoming you into our gallery!
